One of the best dim sum restaurants I've been to. Food is fresh and prepared quickly. Service is on point. Har gau is one of the best I've had here. Can you tell the shrimp is fresh because texture has extra bounce to the bite. Also, chee cheong fun is good. Great food is found in all parts of greater KL area. This spot on Damansara Jaya was a pleasant surprise. Parking situation is a chaotic mess, but Malaysians park their cars wherever they please.

Food Price They sell fresh dim sum and have variety of dim sum. Better than Tim hou wan. I like their siu mai. RM5 for 3 biji. Normally pack with people during the weekend. And during working day, it's hard to find public parking. You may park at uptown 7

While it's not haute Dim Sum, Jin Xuan Hong Kong Dim Sum is known for solid dim sum fare and very cheap prices (RM 5-7 per plate). For the frugal foodies out there, all the plates are served at a fixed price RM 5, and some premium items RM 6,7 and 13 respectively per plate. Stand-outs? The imperial steamed rice cake with shrimp and har gaw. Out of the 6 branches all over greater Kuala Lumpur, I personally find this location at Uptown Damansara Utama to be fast, friendly and attentive, and their selection is always available and plus its close to my home in Mutiara Damansara. There are 50 assorted dim sum choices on their menu, and to be honest everything was good. My personal favorites at this place: Har gaw, shrimp dumpling because it was generously filled with plump cooked shrimp and it was flavorful on the inside, and the skin texture was quite delicate and soft, I didn't even need to dip it in sauce. Im a fan of their steamed rice roll filled with shrimp, the texture was silky soft, and it's lightly chewy and moist, I'm just in love with the rice light sauce they use too, its like a light soy sauce with some sort of broth, really good. Plus its served with a fermented prawn sauce (belacan), oh lord I was in an orgasm of taste. Their service is typically fast, avoid weekends if possible, because this place packs up more people than Disneyland can and ever would on Saturday and Sunday Morning. Now just incase they aren't giving enough attention, by bringing you trays of food, and getting your order as soon as you sit down, there is even a call button to get that immediate attention, you know just incase. Their dishes is typically fast, 2-5 minutes and food will arrive to the table in the steamed hot wooden bamboos. Typically 5-6 selection of dim sum is good for a group of 2, however if the group is as large as 3-6 people, I would recommend 10 at least. This is a non halal restaurant for muslims, however, sometimes most people couldn't be arsed and just have their non-pork selection. Parking is a world crisis during weekdays with their metered parking, but can be easy if you are early on weekends, plus its free on weekends (7 am when they open).

The Dim-Sum is pretty yummy & is freshly served hot. What I like about this place is that it is open from morning till night, so any dim-sum cravings can be satisfied whenever it arises. Prices are not on the higher scale & is comparable to the usual dim-sum shops, so fret not. Their service is quite prompt as well.

Jin Xuan has always been my top preference when it comes to choosing a dim sum place to dine in. Again, need I emphasise much that I am very picky with food? They are way better than the regular Chinese coffee shops that serve dim sum (ps: Way better than Fu San in Ipoh, I seriously don't understand what is the big fuss about!) Anyway, my take on Jin Xuan: 1) Taste is there 2) They don't stinge on their food portion 3) Reasonable price 4) They open at night!!! Perfect place for having supper If you wish to dine in the morning, please do arrive early as it gets packed very quickly. Oh yes, please go try the soya bean from the uncle who runs a stall outside. It is delicious and the uncle is extremely friendly. Good customer service wins my heart! Back to Jin Xuan, you may try their spread of steamed buns, siew mai and har gor. Their fried spread is quite meh but really it is up to your own liking. My fiancé and I think that their standard can sometimes be a little inconsistent. Our visit today was quite disappointing as we thought the food was a little soggy. Anyway, I'd still say to give this place a try. p/s: we concluded that food served in the morning would probably taste better as it is made fresh from the pots, ovens etc. :) There are also other branches in Kuchai Lama, Damansara Uptown, PJ 1, Kota Damansara and Puchong.
